2023 A year in review

By January 11, 2024No Comments

2023 as it turns out was the last year we were known as Cambridge House Dorset Ltd before we rebranded to House of Podiatry (ltd).  As we start of the new year its always nice to take a few moments to look back at what went on here at the practice during the previous year.

The year started with a trip to Liverpool in February for The Foot and Ankle Show, this is a two conference held in the ACC Liverpool. Like all conferences The Foot and Ankle Show provide us with a good opportunity to for continued professional development as well as seeing what more products are on the market that maybe of benefit to our patients. This years show was a bit different as we didn’t have to pay for the tickets as Kate managed to win two free tickets at the previous conference held in October 2021.

Following The Foot and Ankle Show we took the decision to invest in Swift Mircowave Therapy, a (relatively) new treatment method for verrucas. Swift is something that we had been looking at for a new number of years but April 2023 was when we felt the time was right to bring it into the practice. Since its introduction this has proved to be a popular and more importantly a successful option for those patients coming to us for veruccae treatment. Further information about Swift can be found here: https://houseofpodiatry.co.uk/home/our-services/specialist-verruca-and-wart-clinic/swift-microwave-therapy/

During the summer we started the process of rebranding the clinic. We had originally intended to start using the new name from 1/8/2023, as this is the 1/8 is the day we took over the practice from Mr and Mrs Sharpe in 2011. However unfortunately we were unable to organise everything in time for this date. We therefore decided to delay the rebrand until 1/1/2024. Follow the link https://houseofpodiatry.co.uk/new-year-new-name/ for a more information about why we decided on House of Podiatry.

In September Kate started working a 4 day week (during term time). This has allowed us to offer more appointments, most of which didn’t take long to be snapped up. The practice has remained very busy all year with most weeks been fully booked.  2024 looking like it is going to continue in the same manner.
